Not ‘arf, mate. So it is with some delight that I present a few snaps from the wedding of Scott and Federica, which took place in the beautiful Italian town of Ferrara in early September.
While I’m happy the outcome went to plan, they were taken with trepidation. No chance to check out the venue, the reception or anything like that. ‘Winging it’ would be a misnomer.
Still, I’m looking at these snaps and reflecting on a rather fab, if busy, few days. Two very different cultures mingling and having a great time – ours: red-faced in the heat and in search of “a decent feed of spuds”; theirs: tanned, well dressed and able to translate “a decent feed of spuds” into the local lingo.
But everyone having a good time in the sun. And the rain. Oh, and the actual small twister that appeared in the field next to our accommodation.
38 degree heat is a new experience for me taking photographs, but being behind the camera lens allows for more casual wear than most. I only let myself down once, falling down the last three steps of the town hall, after slipping on the rice left behind by the previous wedding. Only my ego and a small portion of my well-padded behind were damaged.
I’d like to thank Scott and Fede – who both looked fab for their big day – for asking me to do this – it was a superb opportunity in one of my favourite countries in the world.
Godetevi le foto, amici!*
